Mary: We are here today to speak about the Affordable Care Act and how it relates to Medicare. As you may know, we are all now required to have at least minimal health insurance coverage. Medicare may or may not meet this requirement.
Sondra: The Affordable Care Act states that health plans MUST cover the Minimum Essential Health Benefits in 10 categories. One of these categories is hospitalization.
Mary: In the Medicare program, hospitalization is covered by Part A while any procedure done once admitted into the hospital, will be billed to Part B. Having Part A ONLY does meet the minimum requirement however, if you have PART B only, it does not which could leave you exposed to a tax penalty.
Sondra: Most of our viewers have Part A or Parts A and B, but for that small percentage that has Part B only, we urge you to call and speak with one of our Trusted team members, toll-free at 1-855-474-6234. Email the Medicare Gals at MedicareGals@ilovetss.com
